Teaching

“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” —Maya Angelou

Teaching Philosophy

I believe that teaching should encourage students to think creatively, especially in our time where new ideas are highly valuable. In the classroom and everyday student interactions, I emphasize the importance of real world scenarios to obtain a practical understanding of the fundamental concepts students have learned. I teach students to think beyond the lectures and make them understand that they are capable of solving real problems no matter their academic background.

My teaching goals include assisting students becoming adept at identifying a problem, becoming resourceful in obtaining background information, learning to collaborate in teams and ultimately applying analytical skills to solve problems. To accomplish these goals, I use different teaching strategies that encourage students’ learning in a creative environment.
